Superman Returns (IMAX 3D)

Brian Singer knows what he’s doing.  Somehow Superman manages to hit all the right spots, action, comedy, drama and romance.  While the Lois as Mommy plot is annoying at times it really is important to the film.  I won’t reveal spoilers in this, so I’ll keep it short.

Routh was great.  I didn’t grow up watching the original movies so I can’t compare him to Reeves, but as Superman he did a fine job.  Bosworth was also fine as Lois.  Spacey and Posey hammed it up a little too much, but Posey had a few great lines worth repeating.  Eva Marie Saint had just 3 scenes, but her final is one of the most heartwrenching of the movie. I thought the end dragged a little bit and of course it left the story open for future films.

It’s just annoying that they’ll take years.  Tv’s spoiled me with plot continuances and resolutions.

Go see Superman.  If you can go to a 3D theatre, it really is quite cool.
